Trauma affects a young child's developing brain, often impacting children's behavior, cognition, and physical health. In this workshop, providers will learn about the major types of trauma, how trauma impacts development, and common reactions of young children exposed to traumatic stress. We will also discuss the brain's remarkable potential for healing and actions providers can take to encourage healing and resilience.

El trauma afecta el desarrollo cerebral de los niños desde temprana edad, a menudo impactando en su comportamiento, cognición y salud física. En este taller, los proveedores podrán aprender sobre los tipos más importantes de traumas, cómo el trauma afecta el desarrollo, y reacciones comunes de los niños expuestos a estrés traumático. También se discutirá el notable potencial curativo del cerebro así como también las acciones que los proveedores pueden tomar para estimular la sanación y resiliencia.
